Old property. Around 750-800 Birr/nite . Comfortable stay but restroom is old and stained. Restaurant is good, service is good but very delayed. They have lunch buffet 177 Birr. Catch it early Closes at 2:30p -dried n cold by then.

One of the oldest hotel in Addis. The meal was fine. The place only needs some upgrading.

Even if it is old hotel, I like this place specially to sit outside on the sunny day.

Receptionist are rude and far from being polite do not provided info when requested. Cheaper rooms are not that good value for money. At least the restaurant is decent (that's why not only one star). Always ask for the receipt when paying, otherwise you can ask for the money back.

I have been staying in the Hotel when ever I visit Addis Ababa. I like the location due to its proximity to almost everything.

The rooms are comfortable and they have great service. The house keeping staff are fantastic/trusting. They clean your room, takes your dirty cloths to laundry and brings them back washed and folded (at a small fee). On one occasion, the housekeeping staff (forgot her name) actually returned cashes (dollars) found in one of my clothes being laundered. I was very impressed and thankful and made her manager aware .

The 24 hour front desk service and parking space is a bonus. They also have full service restaurant with exceptionally good food-The break fast buffet is my favorite.

Only drawback is the hotel deserve major renovations

This is the second ancient hotel in Ethiopia. It has celebrated its 70 years of service few years ago. Its historic importance and convenient location has made it the first choice among many travelers.

When Nelson Mandella of South Africa came to Ethiopia to take military training, he stayed in this hotel and the second floor is named after him. The room he has slept is also named after him and that room is the most expensive among the others. Nelson Mandela has put this clearly in his book "Long Walk To Freedom" on page 78.

The hotel has free wifi, relatively cheap room rates, 24-hrs front office support, bar, national and international bars, with ample parking. Souvenir shops, business centers and ATM are also available inside the compound. Bank head quarters (for most banks) are steps away, governmental offices, airlines and bus ticket offices are all around the hotel.
