  The Medhane Alem Cathedral is the largest Ethiopian Orthodox church in Addis Ababa(and Africa) and the second largest church in Africa. It is situated in Bole in the heart of the shopping area. It is a huge complex with a primary school on its premises. Most times, services are conducted outdoors. What is interesting is to see worshippers praying all over the complex - from the entrance gate walls to the pathways, one will find people prostrating themselves.
  
  The church itself has 3 domes in green with the rest of the building in a creamish and white façade. It's name translates as the Cathedral of the Saviour of the World. Opposite the entrance of the church across the square, there is a huge statue of Jesus Christ with a pool like structure that was empty when I visited.

  The biggest church in Ethiopia, with beautiful design and finish. It covers a wide area, with plenty parking space insde. It is Oriental Orthodox Christian's church of Ethiopia.
