If you are a foreign tourist avoid this place at all costs. The drinks we had were fine but we had an unbeliebably unpleasant experience to go with it. My husband and I were accosted by a crazy lady off the street who began to yell at us and point at us and demand money. She kept pointing at me (Indian) and then my husband (german) and yelling something about firengis while demanding money. I have no idea what she said but I think she thought I was Ethiopian (she acted like I could understand her) and was yelling at me for being with a foreigner. The waiters said a word or two to her but then simply moved on when she yelled back at them. She eventually sat down next to us and kept yelling. None of the other clients and customers did anything but laugh at the show. I twice straight up asked a waitress “Could you please help us?”, to which she shrugged. Eventually we paid the bill (old woman approaching my husband even closer and demanding money when he produced his wallet) and left. Is this the treatment that foreign visitors to the city of Harar can expect? We were entirely respectful, dressed in full pants and shirts and just sitting drinking juice and not behaving inappropriately. It’s one thing for people to ask for money from tourists - it’s quite another thing to be shouted at for ten mins in a public space while no one tries to help you. I’m particularly disappointed the cafe staff did very little to help us.

This is a good place to eat
The food is good and you'll be enjoying the place whether you choose to eat inside or sit outide on the edge of the street.
The only downside is that the food is expensive and be ready to spend more than you often do in Harer.
