As I am doing my Africa tour, my visa for Kenya didn’t get approved on time! I ended up coming here. I was so stressed and upset, not knowing what’s going to happen next, but the staff and the management here went above and beyond to comfort me and help me figure out my next move!!! The amazing manager from Barcelona was so sweet, give that lady a raise!!!! You can tell she loves her job and her guests!!!! Thank you so much to the Hilton team in your hospitality!!!

Hilton still has the grace of hospitality, although the steam and pool was out of service ; we were able to make the best of it by using the spa and message. The front desk staff are very helpful and friendly. The food was great.

Great food and great service. The whole complex is a bit dated. The spa area is in particular need for an urgent upgrade.
Dated bathroom with some humidity issues. Great size of room and comfortable bed. The biggest minus was that there is no possibility to change room temperature. Always stuck at 19.5 degrees without the heating working.

It's a nice big property 50 years old..very spacious..lovely Ethiopian hotel staff. Very warm. I rate it 10 out of 10 in human interactionsalthough the rooms are not as new as other hotels in other parts of the world for the price of 250 dollars a night.

Cool swimming pool except for locker, shower space, and towel shortage at pick hours. A nice place for refreshments, and has a decent parking lot. Lovely serving crew but the demanding gesture at the security check-up points and parking area is repetitious.

Once inside all goes well but I never had a good experience with the guards and their attitude. They are like public phone. What a turn off. Even my kids observe their behavior and say they don’t want to come here when they can get the best treatment at the “other” place.

Gazebo (outdoor restaurant) is nice. Customer service both at Gazebo and parking security is extremely poor. Server wont show up at your table even if you beg multiple times. The parking lot has a sign that says "vehicles park at owners risk." However, They would try to penalize cars parked overnight with 250 USD. If you're not taking liability, why charge a penalty. In addition, a hotel that's the size of Hilton should take some liability as the customers are charged an expensive price for all services.

Great place for tennis or some rest in a bustling city. Prices are rather high (especially the “luxury tax”) but you normally get everything you want. The hotel itself is quite old and you can see it everywhere.

Great place to spend the weekend with the family. The pool was great and very family friendly. The food was pretty good too, and they have a new chef from South Africa who is adding a new menu soon. The chicken salad and cheese pizza were good for a pool-side lunch. The pool is a natural hot springs and the water is warm and pleasant. Watching the steam rise off the pool during an early morning swim is really enjoyable.

Very good hotel. Rooms are a little dated. Beds are excellent. The best thing about the hotel are the gardens, the pool, the shops in the lobby and most and for all the high hospitallity of the staff

Good hotel but be careful: they won't tell you that internet is not free, until the checking out, and surprise, you have to pay they charged me $10 for 2 hours for internet.  It's daylight robbery!

A chic pile of fading grandeur, the hotel presents a time warp to another era, with wide screen TVs and flaky WiFi as a nod to the present. The bathrooms are somewhat dated now, with curiosities such as a wall slot to dispose of razor blades. Renovations are due to start in Spring 2018.

I liked the stay for the most part , those I experienced two situations where I felt second class when it came to service for a White person to a Black person. It was seen by our group of fourteen , and myself. I suggest you have a informative staff conference.

Visited the Hilton for an event. The facilities were great although the decor appeared a little dated. The lobby is like a little Village. There are bureau de change, jewellers, airline & travel agency, gift shops, cafe, restaurant, business Centre and coffee ceremonies. Our event was held in one of the large rooms on the ground floor near the entrance. Very accessible venue for events and shopping.

Very poor respect for customer whom are coming in at the restaurant. By blocking or NO service Wi-Fi area at the hotel . this kind of service is free in all the worldeven small cafeteria and restaurants at the road corner . PLUS
The restaurant food items are TOO expensive
WHEN compared in the CITY hotel all service .
The management of the hotel are dumping the Excellent Hilton hotel name and it's volume work
With no debit .. they are salary collector .

By local standards Hilton is quite allright, however, having to pay extra for Wi-Fi Access is uacceptable. Because of that, and ONLY because of that, they get a 3 of 5.

Hilton is an old hotel so I never stay before but will consider to stay in the future. I have been here several times for business needs. This is the first time I took the time to sit down and took the food and drank. The food is much nice compare with other hotels in Ethiopia. The outdoor swimming is heated and open for non-guest.

Usually I don't like to write reviews for Hotels. This time I have to do it because of the above and beyond services provided by Hilton Addis staffs. First thing firstHilton Addis staff was Top notch, incredible and very professional. They went above and beyond to assist me. They took a very personal interest to help my team and I. They were just amazing people. Second, the amenities of the hotel was fantastic. The breakfast was always fresh and delicious. The spa and gym was great. I stayed in this place for 45 nights without any problems. My special THANKS goes to Rhael, Almaz, Addis, Selam, Yemisrach, Solomon, Emebet and Hanna. You guys were truly amazing.

If you are planning to visit Addis Ababa, you won't regret for staying in this Hotel. Thank You Hilton Addis for greatest memories and finest levels of service and hospitality. I will miss you guys!!

Hilton Addis Ababa is one of the oldest hotels in Ethiopia and has kept their reputation for good service and good food. They are known for their friendly staff and excellent foods. There is a swimming pool and a lavish lounge with a good wifi connection.

On my return from India, I had a stay over in Addis Ababa and was fortunate to be treated to the Hilton. The kiosk at the airport already sells the place with its stunning pictures of the facility and on entrance at the gate, I was really impressed. It appeared more like a resort than a hotel and the walk in to the reception also aided that feeling.

Very large reception area with a book vendor having a display and sale of books, Ethiopian Air offices and some other mini stores all makes for part of the ground floor including the bar and restaurant all visible from the reception area. Also some ATM machines.

A few kilometres from the International Airport, but being shuttled to and from made it not an issue. As it was New Year's eve, there was a buzz in the place and the restaurant was packed - Ethiopians have their own New Year so the Western New Year was not really celebrated and it was relatively quiet. The lift to the 4th floor was one of the fastest I've ever experienced. The room was neat and clean with a large flat screen TV with many channels to chose from.

Whilst modern in appearance, there are a few tell tale signs that the hotel has been around for a while like minute cracks in the wash basin, the shower being in the bath with a curtain, etc. Meal time was buffet with a variety of dishes, but not many options for vegetarians or those eating halal.

Staff from check in to check out was polite and professional. The hotel offered free WiFi and from being shuttled to the hotel, they market becoming a member of their Hilton Honours Club. I did not make use of their gym or pool being busy with activities outside the hotel, but from what I've read, a definite facility to make use of.

    Would definitely recommend this hotel.

I was at the Hilton Addis Ababa for a short business trip. Booking a room before travelling to Ethiopia was simple and hassle free. I was given some options for airport pick up and I selected a sedan car for it which was fine.
The hotel staff were welcoming, polite and supportive. I liked the the overall ambiance inside and as it's a very old hotel, it has some nice touches from the old days.
Rooms are great with large flat-screen TVs. Sound effects from other rooms and floors, especially toilet flushes were a bit disturbing but not a big issue. The rooms are a bit dark with all lights on but they have large balconies and if you remove the curtains, you have enough light. I enjoyed sitting at the balcony.
Probably the best place in the hotel is the poolside restaurant and bar where you must spend one late afternoon or evening.
The hotel has huge open spaces around the main building to walk also.
