  I went there to catch my breath after the challenge of climbing the church around the lodge. The place is very quite and heavenly. For a get away from the chaos in Addis or to have a quite few and relaxing few days of your life, definately recommend.

  It is without doubt the best hotel I have stayed in Ethiopia. The rooms are private and wonderful, clean and equipped with everything you need.
  Before dinner, all guests are invited to an aperitif in the main building next to the dining room.
  The hotel has an excellent dining room offering a meal of Western dishes.
  The Internet works mainly in the library room and in the main building, and less in the rooms themselves unfortunately. The library offers books in several languages ​​and children's games.
  This is a really quiet place and suitable for a few days' respite, to rest a little bit, enjoy some beautiful sunsets and continue on the main trip.
  The hotel is a good place to sleep on the way from the Axum area to the Mekele. It is highly recommended to take a day or two for a trip to the region's unique churches. The churches are rock-cut on a high cliff, and the climb requires a local guide and ropes at the end of a few hours of walking. An experience not to be missed!
  In conclusion, this hotel is unique and highly recommended. The visit experience was excellent.

  If you are in Mekele do make a trip to the Gheralta Mountains, you wont be disappointed. The mountains and landscape is spectacular, its a must see for photographers.
  
  By all means stay at the Lodge to avoid disappointment phone in advance and arrange you meals. Sleep with the door closed alternatively you could be disturbed by an unwanted visitor.

  Gheralta Lodge was a place I wish we had stayed at a day longer. This was one of the places that had lovely rooms with a really great view. The service and food was also very good.

  Wonderful place. Calm, beautiful nature and location. Perfect to climb to the Gheralta Mountain.
