Embassy of Indonesia in Addis Ababa is the best place during our field study in Ethiopia. Particularly, for the very warm welcome from H.E. Ambassador Imam Santoso and all of the embassy's staffs. Uniquely, every tuesday and friday nights in every week, there will be family gathering for all Indonesian in Ethiopia, which take places in Ambassador Residence hall. In that events, you can found Indonesia's friendly hospitality, Indonesian cuisine and playing one of the most popular sports in Indonesia, badminton. This is the best place for those who miss Indonesia's hometown.

Indonesian Embassy established in the year 1966 or 2 year after the opening of diplomatic relation between Indonesia and Ethiopia in October 1964. The Embassy has 10.000 Sq.M area of land, it's strategically located in the South of Addis Ababa city, precisely in Mekanissa Road, Addis Ababa. The Embassy consists of two big building, namely Chancery Building (1.200 m2) and Residence Building (Wisma Indonesia). Since almost 48 years ago, it is noted more than 12 Ambassadors of Indonesia occupying post in the Embassy•The presence of Indonesian Representative in Addis Ababa is extremely strategic considering Addis Ababa is capital city of Ethiopia and there are lots of head office of international organizations located in said city, such as UN-ECA (United Nations - Economic Commission for Africa), AU (African Union), ICRC etc.Meanwhile, the presence of Indonesian representative in Addis Ababa has also portrayed a historical link between Indonesia-Ethiopia whereas the two countries are the participant states of Asia-Africa Conference Year 1955 and the founder of Non-Aligned Movement. So far, Ethiopia has not opened yet its representative in Indonesia, whereas Ethiopian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan, covers for Indonesian
