One of the most hellish places on Earth, Ethiopia's one and only Danakil Depression is the most volcanic region in continental Africa. However, the sights are amazing, and seeing such a rare volcanic landscape like this is worth it.
After men toil excruciating in the extremely place the final product of salt is usually transported on camelback along the ancient caravan routes.
I love this place sooooooo sooooo much!!!! but it is said that it is 2nd place that is dangerous to go !!!!!!!! ( 5-minute crafts ) i would nickname it as
"lava desert"!!!! sometime it kinda reminds me of food, weird!!!!
Sweeeet spot!!!!!
Spectacular volcanic sites. The salt production was very sad to see.
The 3rd lowest place on earth, witch is extremely hot but beautiful! A must visit when going to northern Ethiopia!
140 ° f heat
Melting volcano and salt and sulphur planes. There are not many more spectacular places on the Earth. Getting there takes two days by jeeps through sandy desert (and back as well).
Beautiful, exotic place. Interesting geological formations can be seen here - a salt lake, a bubbling sulphuric region, a Mars-like terrain, and active volcanoes can all be seen in this region. It is considered to be a bit more dangerous, so have scouts if possible, although there hasn't been any incidences since 2012 and many tourists go every day.
