  Tutto il complesso "monumentale" di Lalibela è un vero gioiello che attira, meritatamente, turisti da ogni parte del mondo. La sua storia affascina e rende ancora più coinvolgente la visita, anche per la forte misticità che avvolge i luoghi. Da non perdere.

  Bete Maryam czyli Dom Maryi jest Etiopskim kościołem prawosławnym położonym w Lalibeli , poświęcony Maryi, która jest szczególnie czczona w tym kraju, jest to najbardziej popularny wśród pielgrzymów kościół. Niektórzy uważają, że był on zbudowany jako pierwszy w tym kompleksie.
  
  Kościół ten był ulubiony przez króla Gebre Meskel Lalibela i dlatego był bogato dekorowany. Ten kościół jest mały, ale zaprojektowane i urządzone w niezwykle wysokim standardzie ( jak na owe czasy ) . Dużo w nim rzeźb i malowideł, a przynajmniej wcześniej tak było. Wiele fresków jest zniszczonych.

  If you visit Ethiopia this is a must see place. You can do all 13 churches in 4 hours if you motivate your tour guide to not drag their feet (they insist on it taking 2 days). However the amount of sights you can see and things you can do is unbelievable - don't touch the 900 year old paintings as they won't stop you. Also admissions is $50 USD/person so be mindful of your ca$h.

  This rock-out church is one of the 13 medival church at Lailibela. ETHIOPIAN Christmas Celeberation will be held starting from the eve until the morning all night.
