Exceptional views for sunset - the architecture and decoration is beyond interesting (a lot of thought put into every detail) and the Scottish owner lady was delightful to talk to. Loved the avocado smoothie

Lovely place in great setting. Scottish-Ethiopian fusion food - honest! Shepards pie with a chirro twist for example. Lovely Scottish co owner is a great host. Good for breakfast, lunch and supper.

The best restaurant in town, in a delightfully quirky building with gorgeous mountain views. Co-owned by a Scottish woman who's delightful. Prices include all taxes so no surprises when the bill arrives.

We tried the vegetarian shepherd's pie and really enjoyed it. They also serve half portions. They have a decent selection of desserts, not too many but enough of a selection to please everyone. The owner is also on site to give advice on what to eat and about the town. Apparently the design of the restaurant is modelled on Ethiopia's third highest mountain. If you want to sit right on the top bring a jacket and a hat as it can get windy and there isn't much shade.

A realy unique place. The architecture remindes a little bit of Hundertwasser but I never saw a Hundertwasser house at such an estonishing place. You more or less have a 360 degree view into the surrounding valleys.
Homemade lemonade is just greate and matches perfeclty with the local gin (Explorer Cotckail). It is also good to handle for not african stomaches ;-) Only boiled water is used to prepare it. Food was good.

A friend of mine and I went there for lunch. We ordered 'shiro', 'beyaynetu' and coffee. The food was great but not the coffee. We were served well. The restaurant is also in one of the tallest places in Lalibela, and you can see the surrounding area in almost all directions. What is more impressive is the rehabilitation work of the mountain that belong to the restaurant. You will find many kinds of fruits and other trees. You rarely find forest and fruits in mountainous areas like Lalibela. It seems that when individuals have private incentives, they do a better job in terms of protecting nature. I hope i will find a dense forest when i go there next time. I am sure you will be impressed if you admire nature.

But I did not like the materials, particularly the metallic ones, the building is made off. I feel like the materials are below standard and do not match with the 800 years old churches and even with some of the hotels i saw in Lalibela. And please change the chairs and the tables. Perhaps, it is also good to put a direction sign on the floor. Climbing to the top floor and walking to the rest room seems confusing for a new visitor. Your customers should not ask the stuff for help.

As a local residence I highly recommended this beautiful restaurant for any one visiting lalibela, best time to be here is around 5pm afternoon when the sunset getting down! Ben Abeba have 360 degree beautiful view!

This restaurant has great views of the valley below Lalibela and this is the primary appeal. The food was decent, but not exceptional. The day we went there a number of the items listed in the menu were not available.

The views are truly great, up and down the valley. Choice of different rooms, many openn air, to eat in and enjoy the views. Ambience could benefit from a re-fresh. The menu is a typical mix of western and Ethiopian foods - nothing that particularly stood out, including the shepherd pie. Prices are commensurate with the menu. We paid a bit under 300 birr for 2 persons.
