Fantastic. Creative with a capital C. You choose when you make your reservation which tasting menu size and type you would like. This was a little odd for us, but well worth the risk. They were open to amendments, though, upon arrival. For example I had heard great things about their marrow and their cheesecake. The server made sure they were on our list. And they did not disappoint. The smoked fish in garlic almond soup was sublime. The flavors are bright, many layered, and the food was perfectly fresh. I feel like I am still learning from and re-experiencing that meal. Suculent is must. Especially if you fancy yourself at least a bit adventurous food wise.
Also, it was in the Raval neighborhood, which feels a little like old Brooklyn, a complete relief if you feel drowned in the Ramblas. And we did not go away hungry, even with the least expensive option.response / report this review -

It is a great place for fine dining and priced accordingly. Great atmosphere, me and my friends very much enjoyed it. Nevertheless I thought the waiters were not at the level they should have been, they were good but not good enough for the aspirations that the food and the ambient requires. Off the set menu we chose there were some more successful dishes than others. But I was disappointed with the red mullet being served with scales included. I don't if it was a mistake, but I would certainly recommend to make sure you take them out before it goes into your mouth. Otherwise a great place.

Menu degustación. Very good service, amazing food. 12 dishes + deserts. Loved it. Just check the photos, it taste as good as it looks.

Really quirky little restaurant serving very unique dishes by an accomplished chef. The interior is lovely if very intimate, definitely book ahead and be prepared to be seated in the upstairs bar area (which is in effect a glorified landing), which involves walking through the kitchen to get there. Prices vary quite substantially and seemed to be based very much on what they cost to make, which is a refreshing approach.

So good food! It's so easy to miss among all the other small restaurants with more ordinary food. This is five stars! Don't be afraid, try things. You'll be surprised how good it is.

If you are hungry and expecting to eat a lot, forget about this place and go somewhere else. If you are looking for a tasty experience this is your place.
For three we ordered 4 appetizers and 3 entrees and a red wine. I would recommend the red tuna and the eel with foie.response / report this review -

My wife, our chef son, and I dined at Suculent in September. We arrived without reservations and were greeted graciously. We were seated in an upper dining room reached via the dishwasher's station and the narrowest set of stairs I've seen. From there we had one of the best meals in our six-week travels through France and Spain. Creative dishes of fresh ingredients, served by one of the owners who was absolutely charming. This is a must go!
