This is a lively little restaurant with bullfighters' pictures and other interesting theme relateted things on the wall. Good tapas dishes, nice atmosphere. It must be very popular - for a reason! - because we had to wait about 15 minutes to get a table. No problem though, to wait in the bar.

A Madrid classic ..living in the city as an expat.but know the area.and for classic tapas in a simple setting .La Chata is greattry the Tomato de La Casa and the croquetas.

Awesome, noisy but tasty tapas.

At night, at about 9 to 10pm on a Saturday night! It's pretty busy! We managed to get a table for two! We got the mixed tapas £20 for 4x tapas (enough for the two of us - we're not huge eaters) although the menu says "£20 per person for the tapas.

Packed with people standing and drinking at the entrance! Just walk through and see if you can get a table!

The stuffed pepper tapas was the best! Super tasty. The potato and egg tapa was nice but a but bland next to the other very tasty tapas.
The fish was good and the deep fried calamari was good too! Very lightly crumbed and nice (not chewy calamari).

The bread was awesome! Came out piping hot and keeps coming out as you finish it!

House red was strong. Beer was nice! Typical noisy like a bar!

Service was great! Definitely worth checking out for tapas.

Went here a few times during my stay in Madrid. No gimmicks, great food, fair prices and friendly service. I'm going to try and recreate some of the dishes I had when I get home because I know Ill miss it - so far i cant say that about any other place I've stopped at (not that the other place's food was bad or anything). Thanks!
