Habitación muy bonita, con una terraza con vistas inmejorables hacia el pueblo y sus monumentos. Muy cerca al centro. Los propietarios son muy amables y atento.

No difference with the hotel made of ice in Scandinavia !
I booked this accommodation in September 2016, without knowing anything of the town me and my parents are about to visit. I just thought this town is not far from Cordoba and Granada, and could make a good connecting point for our 40 days driving trip in Spain and Portugal in January and February 2017.
I have no idea the town of Montefrio is in the mountain, I just knew Juan, the host told me there will be no lift. Actually, it is not just there is no lift, but there are many slopes, and there are quite a lot of poops, that I am not sure from which kind of animal(s), on the sloped road.
So there is quite a lot of slope to go from the place you could stop your car and drop your luggage and to the doorstep of the apartment.
Finally, about the stay, is diabolic, because,
1 - The apartment wasn't preheated.
2 - The apartment do not have temperature proof, in fact, there are slips in windows and doors, so, any heat in the apartment would gone almost instantly,
3 - The electricity is very weak, that it could not support the air conditioner and 3 electric heaters,
Conclusion, apartment no heat proof, not pre-heated, 0 degrees room temperature, cannot even turn the heaters on due to weak electricity.
Result, slept on the sofa in living room with cloth and duvet.
If you find this experience interesting, come to Montefrio in January and have a try, enjoy !
Oh, by the way, you have to pay 80 Euro for this, which is more expensive than an apartment in Toledo, which also had 3 bedrooms, a nice fully-equiped kitchen, 2 restrooms, and free parking underground.
So I couldn't understand how could Juan not warn me before when I reserved this accommodation in last September about the condition it will be when I moved into the apartment on 20th Jan.
The apartment is highly unlikely to accommodate any guests in the winter season. So The lodge will definitely be very cold and wet.
If Juan told me the apartment wasn't habitable during the time I reserved. Also, if they could tell me about the more habitable hotels nearby, then I might not be spending 160 Euros for 2 nights accommodation in this old, dark stone house. It was freezing during the winter. The style of decoration was depressive, old. It just makes you feel you are living in a poor farmer's house.
Juan didn't realize their apartments were inhabitable during winter season.
Juan should stop selling those accommodation during winter season. Or at least they should sell at a different price, for the low season, but not 80 Euros per night, for a total nightmarish experience to the innocent travellers.response / report this review -

Wonderful, family-run place with a beautiful view. We stayed here during an 8-day bike tour of southern Spain. We arrived later than expected after hours of uphill pedaling, and were warmly accommodated. Because were staying on a third floor walk-up (with an incredible view), the proprietress immediately called her husband and son, who helped us to store our bikes in their personal garage and carry our bags up to our room, while giving us a quick introduction to the area. Highly recommended.
