The monastery is NOT part of the visit. It is OFF limits. Instead you pay to take a tour into an old time bourgeoise house which has some Buddhist paraphernalia inside. Don't expect to learn much from the guides about the Buddhism (they do their best, but at most is barely just for the curious and completely new to it).

I felt it is wrongly advertised as a Buddhist temple/monastery visit. Maybe some of the other, more in depth and costly, activities are actually related to Buddhism per se.

There isn't much to do around the place although they seem to have good food (didn't try).

The views around and the trip to the mountains is very pretty! It was the only part worth praising.
