Great tapas on the menu, but not cheap
Top quality produce served in a wonderful ambience. A must for visitors of Bilbao and locals.
Great spot , quality food and super cool waiters. I loved the octopus tapas (had it twice). The kitchen stays open past 11 which is great for late workers.
@lavinadelensanche was one of our first stops to eat in Bilbao, Spain. We noticed we arrived at a decent time around 6.30 so it was easy to get a tablešāāļø After that, this place is PACKED! Come early if you want a table.
One thing we noticed in Bilbao is that they not only speak Spanish, but they also speak Basque which is one of the oldest languages in Europe. If you google it, it is very distinct & sounds completely different to anything I've heard before. It definitely helps if you know a little bit of Spanish for communication here,
Although they have tablets for the menu in English if you are unable to speak Spanish š
The service was great, & they have a lovely selection of wine, platters with jamon & you can even choose to have a small degustation if you can't decideš We went with the degustation of 5 dishes+ some bread & jamon. Wine by the glass (for a very good glass of wine) is about 2.5⬠which is more expensive than some places, but considering we pay $10-$14 a glass in Australia, that's pretty good value.
Loved our meal here! We were completely stuffed! The highlight was the jamon. The beef cheek was nice, but a little cold, & the fish was plesant. Would Definitely return one day!
The food here was the best I've had in Bilbao. We ordered the vegetable stirfry, the hake and the 720 minute pork sirloin - all amazingly presented and delicious. Service was speedy and they even baked me a fresh loaf of gluten free bread (pan sin gluten) upon request.
A Bilbao classic - excellent ham
The best spanish ham in Bilbao, some times it gets a bit too crowded and the service is not so great, but the ham is soooo amazing.
Excellent food, booking at the bar recommended if you want to enjoy the world going by you. Atun rojo was excellent in particular, croquetas really good too with very thin crust.
Instead of classified as "best dinners ", there is no day menu as well as no hot dishes - salads, cold and hot snacks only! Very disappointed!
Wonderful find in the city of Bilbao! Very busy on a Friday night but don't get scared away by the standing crowd inside (who are just enjoying the tasty wines and pintxos at the bar) and the "reserved" tag at the tables. Yes there are not many tables available (and it would be advisable to book) but just ask the waiter for a seat after 10pm. In our case 5 out of 6 reserved tables were available. English menu presented in an iPad with pics. Outstanding tuna dish and nice salad dishes. Order one dish (around 8-12euro) and you get it to share automatically! They know how to treat couples! Wonderful wine list as well! Enjoy
