One of my favourite "chill-out" places in Madrid. Staff are extremely pleasant, friendly, and chatty (and speak very good English). The food is good-quality and reasonably priced. Drinks are made "with love". The place remains interesting over time because they rotate the art (which is for-sale), so there's always something new to look at! The wooden seats become a bit uncomfortable after a while, and if you are a tall person you wont fit your legs under the tables ;-) so, go early enough to get one of the tables around the perimeter with cushions!
Oh and for the non-Spanish speakers and the Men's is on the right! LOL! you'll know what I mean when you get there ;-)
Great place . I found it with maps..and read the reviewwent 2 times .and I will go there again
The food was GREAT! I wasn't expecting much of this place because I went for the beer but the tapas were very yummy. I recommend this place because it is clean and with welcoming atmosphere. If your looking to have a great time with family or friend this is a good place to visit. The drinks are good and the sweets as well. Visit this place.
We discovered La Rosa after visiting the Sunday street market in Plaza Cascorro. The tapas bars near the market were very busy and unable to accommodate a party of 6 adults and 3 children. A quick google found this place. We weren't sure about the menu at first but Pedro the waiter put ourselves at ease. We really enjoyed the wine, tapas, desserts and Mojitos! The kids loved the mini burgers. The place was really chilled out with a young crowd and we were made very welcome. After working through a selection of tapas we were presented with a selection of delicious cakes. You have got to try the chocolate and orange warm pudding - simply delicious. I will definitely be visiting La Rosa again on the next visit to Madrid. It's also good value for money
Thank you to the staff for making our afternoon so pleasant.
This was by far the best meal of a week in Madrid. There were around 8 of us, including a couple of vegetarians, and very little Spanish language skills between us. After ascertaining that the waiter spoke English, knew what a vegetarian was (and that fish isn't a vegetable), and seemed the kind of person who wanted to give us a good meal, rather than rip us off, we accepted his offer to bring us a selection of dishes of his own choice until we had eaten enough. The combination of food and service made it a wonderfully relaxing evening. We ended up paying around 24 euros each, including plenty of drinks etc. Fully intend to make a return visit on future trips to Madrid.
