Worst hotel experience we had during our recent tour of Spain. Would not recommend this place to anyone. We had to call the hotel to get recommendations for parking, which was very hard to find. We were booked at Piso San Pablo, but it was only at this point we were told we needed to check in at a separate hotel first, Hotel de los Faroles (apparently they have common ownership). What would have happened if we had not called first? They made no effort to communicate this prior to our arrival. We arrived late at night, and were told that the hotel we actually held the reservation at was a further 10 minutes away. Having walked down a very dark road from the car about 15 minutes away, with all our luggage, naturally the idea of having to navigate the street to find this other place was not exactly appealing, and we felt that the hotel took advantage of that, saying that we could stay in this place - Hotel de Los Faroles- for an extra 5 euros, there was a room ready and available there for us. We felt this was very misleading & planned, as we later discovered from Google the other place was in fact only 3 minutes away, so seemingly made to sound further away, as a way to get us to stay there at extra cost. We didn't like how it felt as if this "hotel chain" was merely using its guests reservation to spread around occupancy among its properties in a way that best suited them- i.e. the other place was overbooked, while this one was under booked. The reception staff was nice, and just doing as he was instructed, we guess. The room was just ok. The toilet was disgusting, with an awful brown stain in it. We love Cordoba, and will return for sure- but this hotel, never.
