The junior suites are a little bit noisy because they have a restaurant below. Especially in the morning at around 8 and 8:30 they put the chairs in their places, this noise wakes up people which want to sleep longer. In the evening around midnight they put the chairs together, instead to let it there - a rule of the city's government.
But the rooms have a good style and alot of space, and also nice paintings. The lobby is very stylish and cozy to enjoy time.
Looking at the alternatives you have in Tarifa, this Hostal is a good choice. You are in the middle of the town and a walking distance to everywhere. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
Hostel Alameda is one of the best places to stay in Tarifa, Spain's old medina. It is very close to the Port of Tarifa so you can easily walk from your boat to the hostel in five (5) minutes.
I stayed here in a penthouse room with small narrow terrace and it had air-conditioning. There was a great view of the promenade, port of Tarifa and ocean from the terrace. I loved it. And the beds were comfortable and en-suite baths small but clean with lots of hot water.
Downstairs there is a good restaurant where you can have a coffee or a lunch or dinner. Alcohol is available. You pay more than a lesser hostel, but this is a very good place and you can walk to in-town beaches in 10 minutes or explore the old medina or visit the Castillo Bueno El Guzman.
Bom hotel, estilo pousada. Não tem café da manhã, e os restaurantes próximos não abrem cedo. No inverno não há aquecimento nos quartos.
Parking
Good location, but beware of the address. Google maps indicates you a wrong entrance.
I stayed here for a night awhile ago with some fellow volunteers. The location was very nice and I enjoyed the view from the balcony overlooking the street in front.
This hostel is very close to the ferry so if you're coming from Tangier then you won't have much of a walk to take after you go through the customs area.
Prices were reasonable and the location is superb. I would definitely stay here again when I come to Tarifa again for those very reasons. It's nearby everything you would like to do in the city so take a moment and check it out. You'll enjoy it.
The new building is fab!
