Very authentic surroundings, colorful tiling, hams hanging etc. Quite touristy but still locals are enjoying a drink here. Keep it to simple tapa here.
We booked for dinner and although they couldn't find our reservation they gave us a table anyway. We weren't allowed to order from the tapas menu because we were seated. This wasn't clear from anything we'd read. The food was very tasty and varied but service was slow
Even being from Sevilla, I've never came here before. The place is stunningly beautiful, the waiters are old school (as effective and professionals as witty), but my tapas experience was very very poor.
I ordered rice (paella) that was only a bit warm and just ok. Then some beef stew that came lukewarm (so they reheat on microwave) the plate was not very clean either
Maybe the restaurant area is better. If I ever go (not in a hurry to come back tbh) I will revise this review.
So, we arrived at around 6.15pm looking forward to the amazing food.I managed to order 2 dishes, but was told by the not so helpful barman that I couldn't order the rest until after 7pm no idea why. The 2 dishes we did get wasn't that great. Spinach and chic pea rather salty and only just warm, and the cod in tomato rather chewey.Glad we didn't order the rest as it turns out.
This place is as authentic as you get. Good everything. I'm not a tourist. I've lived in Spain for 6 months now. Far from a tourist trap. Entertaining staff as well.
Great tapas. Great place for a good tapas dinner with friends and family. We ate in the bar area and stood for a late dinner. Service was typical Spanish but attentive and accommodating to my English (although worked better with my girlfriend speaking Spanish).
Founded in 1670 and still around for a reason. Cheap beers and killer tapas! Great local atmosphere and feel.
Great food. Had Iberian Ham, tomato and salmon salad, leg of lamb. All good - lamb was excellent. They chose wine and it was perfect. Service was good and attentive despite the fact place was busy. Lots of friendly locals and families.
One of the oldest bar & restaurant in Sevilla.
Dinner manu is good, food is good, service is professional. The atmosphere is close to an elegant restaurant upstairs. Maybe on the ground floor, it will be closer to a bar.
I will clear the air and say we have had a great time in Spain so far, but the barman here was completely rude. He looked exasperated the moment he learned we didn't speak (much) Spanish and didn't smile once as he corrected our method of eating a plate of cockles. There are ways to do this without being a jerk. We tried very hard to show respect by using Spanish to order but this wasn't enough to improve his attitude. This might be just that barman and not the restaurant but it ruined our evening. I wouldn't go back.
