  Went for the carvery. Meat good and plenty of it. Had a rare joint and well cooked to suit everyone. Vegetable choice more limited than Monroes Carvery.

  I recently enquired about their vegan options and was very impressed by how enthusiastic they were about accommodating my request. When I arrived nothing was too much trouble, the chef came from the kitchen to talk to me in person and was very helpful, he prepared me a meal that wasn't on the menu and it was delicious. All the staff were very welcoming, a lovely atmosphere, I highly recommend El Cid to any vegan tired of the usual unimaginative offerings. Just let them know in advance.
