Lovely place to go on a mini-break. Lot's of interesting art exhibitions on top of much nature and great architecture.

Cuenca in general is a lovely city, and I would highly recommend taking the time to visit. Beautiful architecture and quite quiet, tourists but not crowds.

Nice, but had expected to find a bit more hanging houses than there were. There is also a bridge opposit the hanging houses that is quite fun to walk over.

Just one of the fabulous things to see in Cuenca. The Casas Colgadas or Hanging Houses cling to the bluff above the river. Spectacular!

Exciting bridge walk with good views of canyon and. . . Not a lot else. It's the surrounding area that's interesting not Cuenca.

Las Casas Colgadas son uno de los lugares más peculiares y conocidos de Cuenca. Estas construcciones parecen desafiar a las leyes de la gravedad habiéndose mantenido en pie durante siglos al borde de un abismo. Actualmente albergan el importante Museo de Arte Abstracto de Cuenca (el primero de esta tendencia en España y Europa) y son el sitio ideal para hacerse una foto y recordar la visita a esta hermosa ciudad.

This is the site - and the sight - that identifies Cuenca.
The houses that have balconies overhanging the drop down to the river.
The best photo comes from the iron bridge across the gorge. You can also get another view from down below if you follow the path to the river.
Inside is a somewhat eclectic collection of art, and of course you get the good feeling of being on the inside of one of the wonders of the world!
Well, one of the wonders of Cuenca, anyway!

A stand out among the hanging houses in Cuenca. You can also get a midday meal here. If you are traveling through or staying somewhere close by this is something that I would definitely recommend you try.
