We have been living in our Motor-home now for the past 5 years, travelling all around Europe and staying at many different camp sites. Our first year we stopped off at Camping la Garrofa (on the South coast of Spain) for one night on our way to Portugal and instantly fell in love with this wonderful place, each time staying longer and longer. Camping la Garrofa is situated right next to the beach between Almeria and Aguadulce on the coast road (around 10mins bus ride to each place). The staff are very helpful and friendly and the bar/restaurant serves you food and drink while overlooking the clear, warm blue waters of the Mediterranean, Shower and toilet facilities very clean with plenty hot and cold water . A real gem of a camp site with many of its customers returning year after year.

Just returned from 6 days on this Rustic Spanish site, and a beach -that is almost all yours, (yes pebbles, but you cannot stop the sea from its actions when its bad weather) Pick correct time of year, avoid Spanish holiday periods and you can have a site to yourselves. Good value meals/restaurant ,clean toilets/showers, staff attentive. Shaded plots. Will await the return flight of the "snowbirds" and visit again. Ok, so it needs a spruce up, but chat to the the owners and appreciate their struggle with bureaucracy!

Nice camping ground directly at the beach. A bit expensive for what they offer.

A perfect hub when catching the ferry to Morocco or Algeria from Almeria in the morning. Sanitary facilities are good and clean. They serve some basic, but delicious tapas. Coffee is good and the beer is cold. They have a small cozy terrace and free wifi.

Very dated and rundown. The owners are friendly and helpful and the facilities though in need of update are clean. You couldn't get any closer to the Med if you tried. There is a very irregular bus service to and from Almeria with the bus stop across the road from the camp entrance. The WiFi is not free and it's rubbish.

Five stars for the long-timers who stay in this place, they were very pleasant company.
Fresh bread in the morning from the restaurant. Little shop. Buses run to Almeria and back.
Toilets and showers clean. Washing machine old fashioned.
I would have stayed more than two nights, if the wifi would have been better. Luckily, the kind lady at the reception let me test the connection for free. No use to pay 3 euros for wifi which is not functioning properly: connection extremely slow.
