THE BEST IN VEJER!
This is a place you could walk by and miss, it's tucked away in the back streets of Vejer. We asked the girls at the hotel where they ate after trying many of the top rated restaurants we wanted to go somewhere where the Spanish go. This restaurant was sublime not much to look at but don't let that fool you.. the food was delicious, for us the best we've had in Vejer. Each course more fantastic than the last, the flavours compliment each other and each dish was well thought out. The balance of flavour was just perfect. The pork was melt in your mouth, the tempura fish was the best we've ever had.. the fish was like we've never had before, delicate and cooked perfectly. The tempura batter was exceptional. The white wine "contratiempo" which was recommend to us far exceeded our expectations. This isn't a polished restaurant, this is rustic at its best. The restaurant finished off a perfect trip to Vejer and I am pleased we used our last night at this restaurant - this is a meal we won't forget. If you want a laid back restaurant with fantastic food this is the place to be Congratulations to the staff who have made this restaurant so special!
Greasy food, specially the chips that come with some dishes. The pork meat, called "iberico" was actually the best part from my selection. Croquettes were greasy and probably reheated, they had that taste. The tuna didn't taste so fresh at all. Frankly I wouldn't dare going for the dessert after the other dishes. Presentation was quite modest as the service. The vibe of the place is relaxed and bohemian, with paintings hanging all over the place. But clearly a very overrated restaurant which serves a food that pales in comparison with other restaurants in the village. And no, it is not even cheap.
Volveremos a ir, totalmente recomendable.
Nice environment in historic place with friendly staff.
