Wonderful flat bread with hummus and lamb koftas! On the host's advice we had two delicious main courses; one main course would probably have been enough for us as a couple in our late 50s early 60s but I had a nice package to take home :-)
The host was attentive and after I asked about the music that was playing, he brought me all of his CDs of traditional Andalusian music as performed throughout the maghreb. I learned a lot and I appreciated his teaching me.response / report this review -

Small but charming restaurant in the heart of SOHO Malaga. If you fancy some high quality Arab food this is the place to spend your money. A bit on the pricey side, but worth it. The hummus was one of the best I ever had, and the lamb tagine, something to die for. I definitely recommend it. Friendly and nice service.

This is a halal restaurant, so wonderful for any Muslims! The food is amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection. The meat dishes were very soft and juicy. The staff was very friendly too. The restaurant also has amazing cultural background. Overall extremely pleased I found this restaurant!!

Lovely place. Fluent in Spanish and hospitality. Servers knew enough English to make our evening special. Great atmosphere and the desserts are a delightful ending.

Great restaurant, a place you must visit when staying in Malaga! Original tastes, sharp seasoning, friendly stuff (I guess it was the owner) as well as exotic and traditional inside makes visit at the Al-Yamal an amazing culinary experience. Tip: finish your meal with the green tea. It is truly amazing!

The Chicken tajen was good, but the environment inside is bad, was there a drunk man and the place was uncomfortable.
