so beautiful !!! we came during mid October and it was a rainy day. better be prepared with the proper equipment. there were a few rapuhios open (this we found out just there) , views were great. we used the Jeep Taxi from Espot, and it saved us 5km walking (about 1hour)

This park is amazing. The views are spectacular of the Pyranees. The name means twisted water which can be seen on the western side. There are lakes dotted all over the park. There is a multi day hike called the Carros de Foc that takes you around the park

The National Park is a very special place. Glaciers have shaped this granitic terrain and have left beautiful mountain lakes with clear water and great rock to climb and boulder!! Fauna and flora have a privileged status in this park hence one can see wild rare plants and animals all over the place.

Magnificent. I had no idea that the Pyreneese mountains we're this huge and extensive. Beautiful vistas taking the roads northwest from Andorra back into France

One of the best days walking I have ever had. From down in the valley up to the snow line. What a great day. We used the land rover taxis to get to the reservoir of Sant Maurici itself and then walked all the way up to the Les Agulles d'Amitges. And to make it even better the refuge was open for a well deserved coffee up the top. When we had got down the land rover taxi was ready to take us back down, astounding.

Beautiful park. The trail to the top spot is not difficult but is long and steep. Therefore, recommend to take a taxi (4x4) to the top, and walk down, which takes 4-5 hours.

We stayed for 2 nights in Espot to the east of the park. We went with my parents, in their late 70's and did the main walk from Lake Ratera to Sant Maurici. There were fantastic views at Lake Ratera and the amazing 50m waterfall down to the crystal clear lake Sant Maurici. It wasn't difficult and we passed some locals walking their dogs even. We spent around 4 hrs doing the 4 mile walk. It can be done quicker, but we spent an hour at the waterfall and stopped for a leisurely picnic at Retara. The weather was just perfect with sun and no wind. We were walking in t shirts all the time, even though we were at 2000 meters. There are the Park's 'taxi' (long wheelbase landrover defenders) that will get you there and back to the hills at around €16 per person. Should be noted there are no facilities whatsoever in the hills. Take your picnic and as much water as you can comfortably carry. Walking shoes/boots advisable but you can get away with robust trainers.

Nice views, a lot to see if you like to hike a lot as not much is accessible by car

Last year, we were looking for a nice place for a trekking vacation with the kids, saw photos on the web- fell in love with the place. This year we're visiting again. The place is amazing! The mountain views, lakes, and easy walking makes it a beautiful destination!
