Lots of space. A lot of animals kept in good health. A little busy in the weekend, quite empty on most week days. Off day is Tuesday.

This zoo has good potentials, but the Ministry of agriculture is responsible for this tragedy..I mean..they make millions a year since the ticket for adult egyptian 5 l.e (don't know how much a ticket for foreigners) what keeps them from renovating the zoo?!! (clean the zoo for god's sake, get new animals, give the animal guards reasonable salaries so they won't use the animals for their own good) and there must be supervision from this "ministry of agriculture"

    50% of animals aren't available

    No Giraffe

Bad smelling and lack of hygiene conditions for animals especially in small cages (Racoon - Wolf - Dogs - etc..)

Allowing you to get photos with baby lions however is prohibited by the zoo's management

    Worst public restrooms

Direction signs are available but you'll always be lost, it will be amazing if they provided a mobile application to facilitate this

You guys need to get your act together. You got to give the animals good food and good water. That's the least you could do. There are so much more things. I really hope you guys start looking at the animals not at the money.

It lacks the basic caring such as cleaning, guiding, and organizing.
You will get into the middle of the zoo and you don't where to go or where specific animals are.
When you ask any employee for a help or for a place they won't answer until you pay them.

It really needs a good management.

Not really anything special. No unusual animals to speak of (though is interesting to see cats lazing about in the cages with rhinos). The vegetarian animals are at least mostly well cared for because they charge tourists to feed them. So, feed them if you want, because if helps the animals. Just know that it will cost you extra for the experience. Also, there are guys at the gate who will charge you to take you back to hold a lion cub and so on, but it will probably break your heart to see how the animals are treated, so you might be better skipping that one and just feeding them instead.

Such potential, but utterly wasted. I don't want to say don't go here because I don't want the place closed, but it desperately needs someone to take charge and fix it. It's filthy, mostly empty, and (thankfully) not many animals. Annoying men rush you and insist on dragging you to see certain animals, being held in bad conditions. They then drag animals around and force you to take pained, awkward, guilty photos with them, demand tips, and then yank you off to another cell to repeat the process. I speak the local dialect and I still had to push them away and yell to get them to leave me alone. Animals should not be held in these conditions and those guys should be kicked out of the zoo. Charge more at the door, and quadruple the space the animals have. Make this zoo good again.

It's a nice place, established by khedive Tawfeek 1891. It has a wide variation of animals. I liked the place m!

There are not so many places to visit especially with kids. Zoo can be an option. Be prepared that it's dirty, no clean toilets or proper places to eat. Too much beggars or annoyers who insist to make photo with you if you're an expat or with your child. 5 Le ticket for resident or 20 for tourist. As well if you are by car better come early morning to find a parking place

If you are an animal lover I suggest you never set foot in there. Although it's not the employees mistake. It just the country itself "Egypt" has no regard for human life that it will not care for animals.
The employees never finish their responsibilities and the place is always messy not clean and there are a lot of animal bullying going on from the zoo visitors.
