The grandeur of the Fatimid Heritage reflects the golden period of the 16th Faatemi Imam Maulaana al-Mansoor al-Haakim who ruled Cairo from 386-411 AH/996-1021 AD and then ascended to the Heavens. He has established in this place al-Anwar, the Seat of Wisdom-Daar ul Hikmah

This large open air mosque is definitely worth a visit. As it's a regular working mosque, women should ensure they have proper attire and a scarf. This is a great place to enter and relax in after a long journey through Khan el Khalili.
