Military museum. If you already there you may visit it. But it is not worth to go there specially.
You take an old man who collected all the rubbish from the war that he could find in his lifetime, let him store it in an old house and let the stuff gather more corrosion than you could ever imagine. Then you try to organize it just a little bit and call it a museum. Very charming and cosy place in a very old-fashioned way and if you're into military equipment and know the details there's for sure a lot to see. Still it would need to be a lot more interesting and attractively presented. Maybe have some stuff that was actually renovated so you can get an impression of what it once was supposed to look like? Biggest drawback is that there is information in Estonian and Russian only and no one from the staff speaks even a word English
Nice, not your usual museum experience. Free coffee and tea. Lots of things to see and discover.
If interested in the local war history then this is a must. Next to the military museum is also a nature museum with one of the best bird collections in the country.
Halva ilma korral saab eriti hea elamuse :)
The Military Museum and Museum of Natural History are definitely worth to visit while at Sõrve. I have visited these museums multiple times, since the exhibitions are constantly expanding and evolving. Museums started from few small rooms in an old house but now occupy a considerable area.
Huvitav ja hariv koht.
