A place with the character and the always fresh menu inspired from local incredients
Nice atmosphere and quality food. Just menu options are quite limited
A beautiful old manor house with great restaurant inside. The food is delicious and service top notch. Perfect spot for weekend getaway .
A very nice place with very good food and friendly staff. We ate the tomato soup, an appetizer with a mix of smoked meats, a lamb, and the Napoleon cake all was very delicious. And I had the sour milk - tasty ad well.
Must visit when driving Tallinn-Tartu highway. Great food. Pretty and tasty. They are closed for lunch break so make sure to check opening times before you drive there.
A place to people who appreciate amzing food, all out of ecological ingredients.
A special place with super nice vibe, fresh food and friendly staff.
Põhjaka is an excellent place to have lunch when on the road nearby. The place is situated in an old manorhouse that has been repaired but still has a beautiful decadent feel to it. The food is healthy anf delicious and well presented. The service is friendly. Prices are well worth the experience.
Amazing countryside, historical manor house, superb Estonian country cuisine.
Enjoyed the surrounding nature on the terrace. Relaxed atmosphere, informal setting. One of Estonia's gastronomical pearls. Highly recommend!
Delicious food from excellent quality and mostly local raw produce made by people who clearly think cooking is an artform. It's a place with a feeling of its own - it's like you are visiting a group of friends who are kind enough to serve you good food. One of my favourite restaurants in Estonia, definitely worth visiting.
However, keep in mind that the staff has their lunchbreak from 3 pm to 4 pm. At that time you are most welcome to come in and enjoy the place but you will not be served. Some reviewers have found it unwelcoming, I personally like it, as it adds to the feeling. Also, I highly recommend to book your table in advance, especially when visiting in the afternoon.
Possibly the best food in Estonia. Estonia is not the first place I thought of for culinary delights but I've been delighted by my experiences in several Estonian restaurants. Põhjaka mõis is the best I've visited so far. Set in one of Estonia's thousands of manor houses, a reminder of its feudalist past, a restaurant founded by student chefs has found fame throughout Estonia as "the place to eat"
Situated on the Tallinn Tartu road close to the centre of Estonia visitors will need to plan well if they want to visit. If touring by car a visit to Põhjaka will make a delightful break on the journey between Tallinn and Tartu.
Food is mostly great but sometimes just a little lacking from a 5/5. Service is excellent and the raw produce seems really high-quality.
Very good food and service
Place that never fails to suprise and amaze with the food.
A beautiful old manor house with great restaurant inside. The food is delicious but a bit overpriced.
Always nice place to stop for a great meal. Good & healthy Estonian food, nice interior and great service.
