I used to love this place, but lately the menu has changed. For pasta with fish it wasn't the regular good old salmon but some white fish which did not taste so good. The salad had chicken as pink and it tasted as undercooked as well. Was really disappointed.

Although the service was nice, the pie I ordered and whitch was supposed to have been warmed up, was cold. But the taste was great. The place itself was cozy and spacious.

Always too busy but good cakes and coffee/tea. Just always always a queue. Which prevents top marks.

There you can find the best cakes in Estonia. Ah! And there you can find by far the largest selection of cakes. And this super large variety of cakes is still available even at, say, 10pm. The atmosphere here, with all the University of Tartu students, univ staff, intelectuals, artists, locals and foreigners - is great.

Perfect. All those delicious cakes was quite a beautiful scenery. When it will come to select a piece of cake, do like me, take three :)
Advice: add a second cashier. You have three staff behind the counter, and i notice the girls are waiting when their colleagues are busy on the cashier or serving. I thought that you could have 1 who works at the cashier and 1 that only prepares the cakes.
But often guests don't know what they want. Let the girls take care of each customer, and add a second cashier.

Although I have had Werner cakes before, I've never visited the place. My first visit was on the day of graduation so the place was extremely busy. Despite this, the service was quick and professional but also friendly. Although the place was fairly full, there were plenty enough places to sit at and enjoy the delicious cakes Werner is famous for.

One of the best caffeterias in Tartu, also they have great a'la carte menu on the second floor restaurant. The restaurant can be booked fully for birthdays and other happenings, and they offer full service with catering as well which is really tasty - modern fusion of estonian mediterrean food. Wine selection is great also.

If you happen to get there when it's not crowded or if you don't mind the queue you get to choose from the best cake selection in town! It also has a good menu for other meals though.
