Now fully closed from visitors until further notice. A shame since this was by far the most unique place to visit in Tallinn

Wow, breathtaking. A lost place that you definitely have to put on your bucket list when you visit Tallinn. Consider to wear sturdy shoes.

Despite being riddled with a checkered past, this soviet prison is an incredibly terrific place. Wander through the old cells, operating theatres, offices messes and outdoor exercise yards. It is a very somber experience to bare witness to how humans can treat one another. There are historic documents everywhere and the walls are covered with newspaper clippings and photos from a bygone era. Contemporary graffiti artists have ceased the opportunity to redecorate many of the rooms. Just outside the prison has become popular for pop up bars by the water's side.
