I was amazed to discover this mesum. Highly recommended to anyone interested in history cause they are so many to discover and increase your personal background.
Great museum with lots of interesting exhibits, represents the history of Estonia. The museum is very modern and uses different multimedia technologies that make it even more interesting.
The building is already a piece of art! Really modern and interactive museum.there is a lot to do and to see for all age groups. Its nit only a place to visit in Tartu but also a must while visiting Estonia.
Very informative and modern museum. Every Estonian and everyone interested in Estonia should visit. Takes several hours to see all of the exhubitions. Gift has good variety of artisan crafts.
There's something to do and see for everyone. This museum is full of Estonian history from the near past to further away on time. Some parts of the exhibition are hands-on, others for looking. One can see amazing handcrafted items on display or relax and enjoy Estonian artists' works. They have a huge area for temporary exhibitions and at the moment it focuses on the national clothes which are absolutely amazing.
They have a restaurant and a cafe on site. Also plenty of restrooms.
It is an okay museum. You learn about the history and lifestyle of Estonians. The museum is quite high-tech.
But, personally, I don't think it's worth the 14€ entry fee.
Estonian history in a nutshell. The thing with nutshells is that they are not very small. So, what you end up with with is a brief overview of almost everything, but no in-depth stuff. Recommend hiring a guide to fill the gaps and go there for a day :)
Absolutely amazing museum and definitely worth coming to see.
As a foreigner it was fantastic to have a guide explain so much but could have spent another 2-3 hours wandering around.
Really great use of technology to assist with the descriptions of the exhibits and all in all a truly fantastic experience
The Finno-ugric exhibit is real adventure in modern museum, some of examples from Estonian National exhibit are cool, like Lady of Kukrus, Estonian flag etc. Still you need to take few hours to discover all the treasures.
Modern high tech exhibitions with lots of interesting audio and video materials. Although, the building also has a lot of free space.
A lot of diversity and a great tourguide. Planty of interesting things to see and the building itself is an engeneering marwell.
Huge and extremely interesting place. Good to visit at night just for view
The building looks very good outside. I expected it to be a bit larger inside as well. If you read about every exhibition you could easily spend the whole day there. Downstairs exhibition had some really effective designs. Loved that.
I understand why some reviewers aren't huge fans. But I found it well done. One particular port was that they gave us cards when we purchased our tickets that we could scan on any of the descriptions in the main exhibit to turn them into English (I think they also had Finish and Russian optiens)
Recently opened National museum has a lot to offer and explore. You can have a quick look to all of it in half a day but if you wanna read the stories and get the most out of it you need a full day. The museum has a pretty nice cafe and shop.
Everything is nice and modern but many computers did not work so you kinda miss important info
Modern and huge building. Must take a whole day to enjoy it all. Everything You need to know about Estonian history.
Modern, interactive, creative and very Estonian, a must See! It neatly and patiently is collecting interesting items about the history, area, people, origins of eestonian people, land, languagemany dimensions, the organisers try to present the items and information interactively and by using modern technology.
One can admire and learn from all of it, objects and subjects presented, the creativity - how it is presented, architecture, and practical location of cafeteria and restaurant.
One needs quite some time to take in all the information, but perfect for a depressing Baltic weather days.
feeling inspired!!!.
Pl. Internet here has the speed of light, great!
I enjoy this enormous building with minimalist style. Although many dislike it then I feel very free and clear. Exhibitions are interesting but there is so much information that you can visit it many times and still find something new. Maybe tourists and foreigners should visit it with guide because there are so many areas and it may be a little bit confusing.
