Even when foggy, it's a very pleasant ride.

This is a must do in Quito. Around August and September is one of the best times to go, if the day is favorable you can than 4 volcanos and mountains covered by snow around the city. It's a very high and cold place but is beautiful and it's possible to keep walking to the highest point of the "Guagua Pichincha" volcano.

Best view of Quito from here. Plan to come on time and breath deep beacuse lack of oxygen can make you dizzy, tired or nosebleed. This is an amazing adventure!

Amazing views on a clear day, so plan accordingly . If you have problems with altitude, this will be tough. I don't usually notice much of a difference, but I definitely felt it here. I recommend grabbing a bite before going or packing a lunch. Use the free restrooms at the bottom or pay .50 to use the ones at the top.

Given the ease in which one can get stunning views across the Quito valley and--weather depending--down the Avenue of the Volcanoes, this is a 5/5 location. It's a bit of a walk up the hill to the teleferico station so a taxi is suggested. But the $8.50 entry fee is reasonable. If you have an actual Ecuadorian visa (we have a IV work visa) you can get in for the Ecuadorian rate of $4.50. So that's worth knowing. The teleferico trams themselves are stable and quiet and provide epic views throughout their ascent or descent. At the top there are a number of crappy places to spend money, but there are ample trails and vistas in which to enjoy. The hikes are relatively well-documented. Keep in mind it is significantly cooler at the top. Enjoy!

Great views of Quito. Lots of hiking trails and great mountain biking. If you are in Quito this is a must visit site. It can get very crowded and if timed wrong you can spend a long time in line. Be sure to check the weather. Not a good choice on a cloudy day. Be aware that at the top you are going to be 4050 meters above sea level. If you are not used to the altitude you will quickly find yourself out of breath.
