Café San Mateo in Mejia Street is a very small cafeteria located in Plaza de Las Conceptas. Serves delicious coffee from Loja and some good cakes. Tried chocolate mousse delicious ! 1 cappuccino + 1 american coffee + cake : USD5.50 aprox.

It took 42 minutes to get an iced coffee and 47 minutes total for an empanada to be heated. There was only one employee and he kept taking orders before preparing anything. Nothing special but good location.

The food and coffee are top notch. The siphion coffee I ordered was prepared table side. It was made with organic Lojano coffee and served with whipped cream. Wonderful!
