This is well worth the visit if you happen to be near Tena and like a rugged, authentic upper Amazon experience. I really like the self-guided tour approach, where they have 20 signposts along a real Amazon jungle trail (about 1 hour to walk) and 2 plasticized sheets with explanations in English or in Spanish - go at your own pace.
The canopy tower is an incredible experience, if you're brave enough to climb up 100 feet / 30 metres on the outside of the frame! At the top is a small platform overlooking the canopy for as far as the eye can see in all directions, birds noisily calling around you. Staff & volunteers were very friendly, offered for me to join them for lunch.
Finally, the organization is working on various environmental and animal reintroduction projects. Also, an upscale cabin with Jacuzzi being built to add to the existing rudimentary cabins you can stay in.
Went here a couple of years ago, it was great! We had the place to ourselves, definitely worth a visit if you're in the Misahuali area
It is very run down and at best you could describe it as a reasonable walk
