Beautiful bird's park.
Wonderful sanctuary for rescued birds. Not big, but still nice. It is the first bird sanctuary I’ve ever been to. What I liked was that some of the exhibits were huge, and the trails weren’t too much of a hike. I also got to see some cool birds of prey, like the Andean condor, harpy eagle, they even had Steller’s sea eagles, which aren’t even found in South America. The bird show is also pretty cool, featuring owls, falcons, and eagles.
If you enjoy walks in places where you can feel peaceful, this is the right park for you.
If you are near Otavalo a visit to this bird refuge is a MUST! Don't miss the show, there's only 2 a day, one starting at 11am and the other one at 15hs. The park is closed on Tuesdays. Take a taxi from Otavalo town and it is only about USD 4/5. The trainer and presenter of the show is really amazing and entertaining apart from being the head and core of the refuge. You'll love the show!
Wondeful! This place is a must see if you ever go to Otavalo. I've been there twice now and it never disappoints.
Don't forget to bring a hat and sunscreen. Sun at the equator is serious thing.
Don't miss this when traveling to Otavalo. It is a little bit out of town, but had some interesting displays of the birds and condors to walk through. The show is the highlight. It was all in Spanish, but it was fantastic.
Excelente iniciativa, es cómodo y muy divertido. El parqueadero es grande, puedes ir sin reserva y ciertos dÃas hacen demostraciones con aves.
The show was amazing. They have a 9 year old bald eagle that puts on a great show. The birds are all rescued from various situations. The all look very healthy and we kept. The views are amazing of the volcano Imbabura and surrounding towns.
It is fine. The show is not that interesting if you don't understand Spanish
Fantastic birds of prey and amazing views of valley.
Wonderful experience. The birds were breathtaking.
Difficult to access, don't go by foot, very far from otavalo and cascade. But once you arrive they have amazing raptors. Too bad there are only 2 shows: one at 11.30 and 15.30. We arrived in the middle and didn't see any show unfortunately.
Great place for all the family. A large variety of raptors with an entertaining demonstration. Only conducted in Spanish.
Many raptors in addition to condors. Seems well run with an informative presentation/display in the outdoor amphitheater. Gringos have the pleasure of paying higher admission. Most signage as well as the presentations are in Spanish only.
No one around to explain the park. Not a reception except to charge you. Magnificent birds and signage
