  キトの旧市街にあるサンタカタリーナ修道院は、1616年に教会・修道院として建てられたが、現在の姿になったのは18世紀のことだ。淡いピンク色の壁が特徴で、壁に大きく40と書かれている。この40が何を意味しているのかは、まったく謎だ。
