  The market is like a farmers market. After climbing 6 to 7 stairs into the open area you walk past local vendors who sell local fresh fruits
  and vegetables. Large bags of rice, beans and spices are available. Shrimp and fish available. Everything is very reasonable, you could haggle but it's very inexpensive and it helps their economy. Every place you go is dollars. Ecuador covered to the US dollar in 2014. Example I bought 2 nice size bags. Of STARFRUIT For $4.
  Like many places, it could use a good scrubbing and you won't find an A posted anywhere, but after shopping just rinse when you get home.
