Excellent. More expensive than most hostels, but easily worth the price. Great food and accommodations. Easy to meet other travelers. Family dinner and breakfast
It was OK. It is at the price of an expensive hotel however they just fall short. The "hot tub" is only just warm and runs for a limited 1.5 hrs from 4.30pm (not even worth the effort as you need a hot shower afterwards). The dorms are cramped in the attic and had a cold shower before 8am. However the volunteer staff were very nice. Would have prefered to stay at the other family run hostel 2 doors up.
Clean hostel, clean sheets, dorms are cleaned daily, great pool.
Downside is there is a bar but only beer is available (but you can always buy your own), no music by the pool only a TV.. Just think if there was some music there would be more atmosphere but apart from that, our stay was great!
After leaving the small but bustling town of Sigchos, my girlfriend and I walked into the even smaller, near-ghost village of Isinlivi for our second night on the Quilotoa Loop. This hostel exceeded our expectations in almost every way. It was clean, the staff and volunteers were friendly, the amenities were great given its secluded rural location, and the view from the patio was brilliant. We only stayed for one night and were instantly envious of the couple who would soon be volunteering for a month. It's a very tranquil mountain retreat, and I highly recommend this hostel for its yoga, daily activities, community engagement, and cleanliness. A must-stay along the Quilotoa Loop.
This place is an oasis in the mountains. The staff and facilities are incredible, the food is tasty and the views are fantastic. You'll end up wanting to stay longer.
I have no idea how you can give this hostal a postive review at all. Hostal didnt put any pictures of dorm room so when I arrived I saw 8(!!) mattresses located on the floor in the small room under the roof that has tiny window and no door. And all this "luxury" for 19 dollars per night! So called private rooms have no windows at all. Jacuzzi has dirty water. When I saw this I just packed my stuff and went to other place. Host was sleepy and unfriendly. Dirty and overpriced place
Amazing hostel. Food is really nice, comfy beds and such a sociable atmosphere!
An excellent hostel with all the amenities. Includes showers, dinner, breakfast, hot tub, and sauna. What a great place to meet new people on your adventure.
A key hostel during the Quilotoa Loop (stage: IsinlivÃ) where most backpackers stop. I confirm its a must if you are hiking to the Laguna.
After the (shortest) day of walking (if you come) from Sigchos, you will enjoy a beautiful view from the terrace, a nice jacuzzi with a frozen glass and a beer, a cuddle with Baloo (their St Bernard), and an awesome diner/breakfast.
The no-WiFi policy and the meals taken at the same table make the experience way more convivial that in most hostels we have been to!
Its pricier than you would expect from an hostel, but the meals and the service totally justify it! Great experience for us!
Possibly one of the best hostels I've stayed in. A gem while hiking to Quilotoa. Staff friendly and great facilities for being in the middle of nowhere. Jacuzzi was great sat with a beer after a long day. Couldn't recommend this place enough. Warm at night. Really made for a great experience while hiking to Quilotoa over three days.
Not a budget option but definitely worths it. After a long hike under rain being welcomed by a hot jakuzi, fire place and warm drinks just does the trick. They even dryed my wet clothes. Meals are really amazing and yoga clases were great as well. Best hostal I stayed in a year of travel.
This is one of the coolest places I have ever stayed at. Spectacular views from all over the grounds. Wonderful meals served to guests as a group which really allows you to meet new people and make friends with travellers from all over the world. We stayed here for our anniversary before starting our hike to the Quilotoa Crater and I would recommend it to anyone exploring this amazing region in Ecuador.
Basic dorm, but amazing food and a very cozy place. When we were there, we had free access to the hot tub & sauna, which made our day after a long day of hiking.
Really enjoyed my stay at the Hostal, there were very well priced drinks and the food was incredible!!!
Only a few issues here, one being that we paid for a private room for a couple but it only had single bunk beds (no issue really) and second of all, there was only one bathroom (Might I add, this was the best shower I've used since travelling - incredible!) but this meant it was ALWAYS occupied.
Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay here.
Unbelievable nice hostel with very kind and helpful volunteers. We had two beds in the dormitory which were very comfortable. We thought 19$/person would be a little expensive but not for all you get. At the moment, the spa is free for every guest because there are some construction in progress. We didn't recognize any disturbing.
The food ist absolutely awesome. Three course dinner, really healthy and delicious and the best breakfast we had during our 8 month trip through South America. I would give 6 stars but Google doesn't let me :)
Thanks for all
Such a cosy place, really clean and nice facilities. Beds are super comfy, the food is great and there's plenty of it, the staff are amazing they go above and beyond, there's hot water too! One of the best hostels I've stayed at, amazing environment.
Good for hikers; could be better. Common breakfast , dinner for everyone. Cabins w/private room better than the others. Dry toilet. Access by public transportation or own car (better not sedan).
Relaxing resort especially after trekking. Highly recommend staying in one of the cottages and renting the spa.
Great place to stay when hiking to Quilotoa, It's also possible to get transportation to the lagoon, although it is a little pricy. They have a beautiful view, clean and nice dorms, great food service.
Just incredible! The owners here are amazing and they just do customer service over the top. I would have liked to stay here for weeks. Best place I stayed in my entire South America trip!
