We were recommended this hostel by not one, but two friends. So we are very sad to say we were disappointed. Bed was full of hairs, the room smelt bad and the staff were unfriendly. It felt like it was more of a bar than a hostel. We hope perhaps we caught it at a bad time and maybe it’s normally awesome. better for a drink than to stay

Very nice place. Very good food and clean rooms. But the water for showers was quite annoying, you had to ask every morning for them to start the hot water. The staff that was from France were quite cold, not the most welcoming people in comparison with the warm ecuadorians people.

The place is clean and you get more than enough room (at least in the 5-beds dormitory).
Nevertheless the staff as been very helpful when asked for tourism information regarding the city.
The included breakfast is quite good (you get to choose among several options) and quantity is decent.
Regarding the 5-beds dormitory, the beds can't be put along the walls which create a space between the bed and the walls. It is quite annoying when you are on the top bunk bed since it does not allow to store things (water, phone, etc.) in the bed at night without a risk for your stuff to fall on the ground. Nevertheless, the bed itself is very comfortable.
There is no storage space for people one the top bunk bed. There is no electric plug accessible for top bunk bed. By the way, the ones on the grounds level are in a shape that is not the most common. You may need a specific adapter (but those in the common area / restaurant are fine and there are plenty of them).
The Wi-Fi connection is correct (sometimes very slow and other times in the average).
Regarding the shower, it might be hard to get hot water

Good hostel, excellent beds and staff. The bar and restaurant were also pretty good. No real chillout place so hard to meet people, but only stayed for two nights.

Stayed for just one night while travelling onwards to Mancora. Hostel is very nice, 6 bed dorm was big and the bar downstairs was very lively. This may be an issue for some light sleepers. Left early the next morning so didn't get to enjoynthe free breakfast.
