I can’t brag enough about this place, it comes with a stunning view if you ask to go up the terrace, morning or at night it’s beautiful. It’s right by the plaza and close to the 10 de Agusto st which has all the main shops for leather. The hosts are amazing, they cater to what you need. Carmen is a sweet heart and made me her home remedy everyday whilst I was there. I lost my voice. Jairo arranged a night out to the hot springs for us, and it was a really nice treat. would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay

The owner of this place is friendly and helpful. We are traveling on a budget and they were able to work us into a spacious room, private bath, comfiest and largest bed we’ve had yet! Little did we know the price we agreed on $15 was per person so this actually turned into the most expensive place we’ve stayed as well (being the off season and our seasonal work isn’t very lucrative- majority of our stays have been around $10-$15 per night) breakfast (lots of eggs, avocado, ham, and two slices of toast with jugo and a large cup of amazing local coffee) all included.
Although, I went to take a shower and there was no hot water so I waited until morning thinking it ran out. It was still ice cold so we went and asked and he forgot to turn the hot water on on accidentresponse / report this review -

I had a great experience at La Cuadra. They were all so nice, helpful, informative, and most importantly, made me feel at home, which can be very nice when you're thousands of miles from home. The included breakfast was huge, delicious and is worth $8 alone or more. Highly recommend. Thanks Jaíro!

I just returned from Ecuador and stayed at this wonderful hotel. Jairo and his wife Carmen are the sweetest hotel owners I ever met. They went above and beyond making me feel at home and were very knowledgeable of Cotacachi and the surrounding area.
The hotel itself is very quiet, clean and well located in the center of the city near little grocery stores and shops of local arts and crafts. The beds are comfortable and the tasty breakfast is included in the cost of the room. Highly recommended!response / report this review -

Absolutely the best place to spend a night, a week, or a couple of months in the picturesque village of Cotacachi! Very comfortable rooms, some with great views. If you love to photograph the mountains, ask Jairo to take you to the rooftop terrace for some spectacular views of the town and the local extinct volcanoes. Hostal La Cuadra offers a lovely lounge/TV room for guests, kitchen facilites and dining room especially for guests, and a lovely little garden and terrace for relaxing outdoors on bright, beautiful days! Adjoining Café La Cuadra has the best coffee in town, and an extensive menu of various coffee, tea, and juice beverages to accompany fresh and delicious cakes. Ideal location for exploring the lovely, tranquil town of Cotacachi, and the surrounding areas. Perfect quiet place to rest after a day of shopping in the Leather District of Cotacachi or in the famous Plaza de Ponchos in nearby Otavalo. Prices are extremely reasonable, and you can't ask for better hosts! Book your vacation or weekend getaway now!
