Lovely, small hostel in an area with plenty of food options, and within walking distance of lots of interesting things to see (markets, museums, the basilica) Not a party hostel, which is great, because It means you can actually get a decent night's sleep. For the best value, make your own meals in the well-equipped kitchen and take them up to the roof terrace to eat while looking out over the green, green mountains. Heavenly. Also, they will arrange pick-up and drop-off for the airport, which is pricey compared to the bus, but it's also a lot faster. If you have a flight that gets in after 5pm, I definitely recommend it, because the whole customs, immigration, and baggage claim process can take up to 2 hrs from when you land, and then you add another 2-2.5 hrs onto that for the bus, and reception at the hostel closes at 11.
The one thing that does take getting used to about this place is that the bathrooms seem to have been designed for maximum air flow and minimum privacy. A bit like summer camp. But hey, it builds character, right?

A nice independent hostel well run with cosy rooms. You will have to climb some stairs but the view from the very top is spectacular. They have the best stocked kitchen I've ever seen in a hostel. The owner and the staff will offer tips on places to go including how to get to the equator. A nice bar and a really good vibe to the place. A bit tricky to find but definitely well worth it.

Fantastic hostel, old school European style, reminds me of the french Auberge Jeunesse hostels

Location: right next to a bus stop to the main terminal. Close to the old town.

Service: extremely clean, super friendly. Free coffee and tea.

Hostel: a beautiful old building with lots of atmosphere. Great beds and rooms are in good shape. Kitchen is extremely well equipped, best I've seen in 7 years. Markets close by.

I searched the cheapest hostel in the area, and got the cheapest AND the best. This place is seriously the best option, especially if you're an English speaking tourist. The owner is bilingual, knows the area, and will call you a cab whenever you need. There's a fully equipped kitchen, VERY clean dorms or private rooms, and a bar downstairs where you can get a beer or a shot for $1.50 at happy hour. If I ever come back to Quito, I will be staying here one hundred percent.

Super friendly and helpful staff. They have happy hour and there is a huge selection of movies in a cosy living room. Facilties were clean. We'll equipped kitchen. There is a couple of computer that can be used.

As we are sitting here in the TV room, hanging out with our new travel friend from Finland we called Sandra, the owner of this hostel, over to let her know we felt at home here. We actually stayed 2 nights, then left to Otavalo and stayed a few nights there while doing excursions. Now we are back in Quito, and we didn't think twice about coming right back here. The entire hostel is impeccable. Not exaggerating. The kitchen is a joy to cook in, everything is clean, nice and organized, so you can easily cook here and store anything you buy at the store. The hostal has a perfect combination of friendly/social and quiet at night. This is NOT a party hostal, but it is a hostal that you can have a couple of beers in during dinner (with their happy hours prices) and chat with other backpackers as well and the owner and the volunteers who work here. We would always come back here if we are back in Quito.

The cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in. The kitchen is immaculate and well-equipped. Oh, and the beds? They're like clouds and they're made every day! There's a good, friendly vibe with helpful staff but it's also fairly quiet (read: not a party hostel), so it's a great place to chill out and get your rest on.

This hostel has big, comfortable beds and a nice, chill vibe. The owner, Sandra, is not only good looking - she is also a very nice person who will even record English soccer for you to watch after returning from strolling around in el Centro Historico.
