  Amazing place, also for camping. Great location near the surf spot. You can rent boards here and take lessons. Daniel and Nadja are super nice people and have made an amazing haven here

  Daniel was an amazing host. Told us about all of the best places to eat in town, helped navigate the local spots, and was an all around pleasure. The rooms were great, vibes were great, people were great. This is a surf shelter. If you're not surfing, might not be the best place for you. If you're surfing and want to meet fun people on your journey - this is just where you need to be. Enjoy!

  Fantastic little time pocket in charming fishing village. Daniel knows exactly what you need and has made sure that you can find it here! Good people, nice facilities, short walk to the waves, beautiful calm surroundings - nothing not to like!
  
  Just one problem; you'll end up staying fopr much longer than you plan.. ;)

  My stays at Hostal Puerto Engabao have been great every time. Daniel and Nadja have created a very nice surf hostal that has all you can need for a surf vacation or the wandering traveler. Clean rooms, kitchen, showers, all surrounded by little gardens, excited to see how this place grows. Daniel is very helpful and willing give you any information you need for surfing in the area or even just where to find the best food to eat. And the travelers I've met here have always been great people, a very pleasant place to stay!

  Daniel and Nadja are wonderful people. The hostal is surf oriented and the host knows where the waves are breaking. Always friendly and willing to surf, the hostal has great beds and nice rooms. Dont expect fancy, but definitely comfortable.
  If you are on a surf adventure in Ecuador, engabao is a must wave and no other place is better to stay than here. Stay with the locals.
