The location is great but there were couple issues with our stay. First, we asked to prepare our lunch boxes in the morning so that we can start hiking before breakfast and they completely forgot about it. Second, they don't make sure the place is quiet after 10pm so we struggled to get some sleep while some other guests were having a party in the common area.

The dorm room bathroom door squeaks terribly in the dead of night. They kicked us out of the dining area at 8pm and there was no where to go that was warm so we were forced to go to bed.
We moved to a 5 person room the next night which had an indescribable stench coming from the bathroom that made everyone one of us gag while trying to brush our teeth.
Overall to pricey for what you get.

So many issues with my stay at this hostel.A lot of the problems to do with the hostel undergoing refurbishment. We arrived to no electric in the dorm after having a really long wait at reception before being shown to our room. No water pressure and no hot water for a shower, anytime else this would have been ok, but being cold and hiking all day it really was a let down. Food portions were small and the order in which food came out was a bit of a mess. I think there are better places to stay and couldn't recommend this place for anymore than a bed. The woman at reception was nice and attentive but was overwhelmed with the restaurant to help on the hostal side.

Great location opposite Quilotoa lake. A little expensive at $47 per double room, but includes a nice dinner and ok breakfast (eggs were cold). The whole place is under construction so from 7.30am to 6.30pm there is a lot of banging, dust, sawing etc so it's not very tranquil. No hot water in our room and we were not offered another room to shower in, which was a pain as we had been on the road all day and the room was so cold so a cold shower was not appealing. Same the next day, freezing cold. The place is very, very cold until they light the fires at dinner time, which heats the room nicely. This place will be awesome once finished.

Great hostel and located right off the end of the trail coming from Chucchilan. We didn't have any warm water but I'll give them the benefit that it was because the hostel was under heavy construction while we where there. Also have amazing food.

Really cool hostel right on the edge of the lake. It's got a real Swiss Alps hostel feel to it. Rooms are basic but clean and well looked after. Food is great at their restaurant

This place was ALMOST good. The family who runs it is really nice, our room was cute with its own fireplace and the food was pretty good. However we had two large problems (both of which I think the hostel could easily remedy) that made our experience negative: 1. The bathroom was awful because it had no ventilation mechanism, meaning that both the walls and floor were very moldy and all the surfaces including the toilet seat and toilet paper were wet the whole time. I held my breath when I was in there because I felt like I was breathing in mold spores. 2. They started doing very loud construction on the room above us before 8am, which I guess could have served as a wake up for their breakfast which ends at 9, but either way it was NOT a nice way to wake up

The good: staff is friendly and will accommodate any dietary preferences, like vegetarianism and veganism. The internet is faster than other places I've been. Decent portions for dinner.
The Bad: the Cotopaxi province is cold, so the rooms will get cold. Every room has a small fire place, the bad news is that they will turn on the fireplces only after dinner and they will only provide wood for a couple more hours not for the entire night. If you request wood, they will deny it. If you like sleeping under below freezing conditions, then I guess this place it's ok. Breakfasts are very smallresponse / report this review -

After getting lost on my trek and arriving here at 9pm, we were greeted by very friendly staff who actually offered to cook dinner for us (which we had missed) which was absolutely incredible of them.
The food at the hostel wasn't particularly amazing and the price was a little steep (but in line with local hostels) due to the flexibility of the staff, we really didn't mind!
The beds were comfy and included a fire place to make sure you were warm during the night as it does get VERY cold here.response / report this review -

Bad service and behavior during off season. They don't seems to have the needs to satisfy the customers needs especially if they are dipping wet from rain and need a place to warm up.

Stayed in room with 4 adults and 5 children in room with bunk bed, Sigler bed and 4 double beds. View was great and lounging area. Covenant restaurant attached with good food. OK service.

Mold everywhere in the bathroom. Not enough food at meals. Relatively friendly staff but have seen much better in other hotels in Ecuador.

Really cool hang out hostel after long hike or walk around the area. Amazing hang out area during the day while the sun is out.
