it was nice.. .. I give it a 4 star because they were accommodating when we had to stay a little extta time.. one night there were people drinking and partying till 3am.. very hard to sleep.. the breakfast was ok.. but the place up the street had a better breakfast so we only ate breakfast at la hostel once I would go there again.. the price was right and it was not in town .. but out of town.. so the noise was lower.. easy walking distance to everything..

Stayed in private room, which was excellent! A year ago I stayed in the dorm, which was small and crowded - not good.
For USD 5 you can do the steam bath ritual (appr. 40 min), where the owner will explain you what to do. Good way to start the day!
Very good breakfast as well (not free).

The room was nice with a private bath but I didn’t like the lack of privacy inside of the bathroom. The windows faced into a courtyard type area that allowed other bathrooms to be visible from each other.

The pool area was large and comfortable during the daytime. Their hot tub wasn’t operational during my visit, unfortunately.

All and all, the location was ideal.

In general its a nice hotel, has dorm rooms for backpackers and a kitchen upstairs. The staff werent very friendly or helpful and didnt show us around. Everything was clean and well kept though. The shower in our room too ages to get warm and never became hot :/

Pros: It's a little of the beaten path, but that's probably good because Baños can get really loud at night. Shower Water was hot! You can get a great bargain here too. Breakfast was good even though not free. Staff was friendly helpful and spoke English pretty well. Beds were comfortable enough.

Cons:The wifi didn't really work in my room and it worked okay in the lobby. Only 1 of the wall plug ins in my room would actually hold my phone charger, the others would not hold my phone charger in, it would just fall out.Also know you need 4 people to use the hot tub.

Relaxed atmosphere , decent rooms , free Internet terminals and very friendly staff.
Unfortunately the swimming pool is covered so sunbathing is off

Great place to stay in Banos. Very good price, nice looking rooms, VERY clean, comfortable bed, nice and most helpful staff. Hostel has a small pool which is free of charge to use which is nice and balcony.

The only problem was not very comfortable pillows and the walls.. If you touch them you will be white. Easy to wash off (from cloths) but annoying.
