Good value, dorms well equipped (personal light and outlet, ) and overall good atmosphere. Nice social areas and incredible rooftop. Breakfast is too small and the noise from upstairs can be heard from the dorm (but stops at 23pm)

The room was nice, family was wonderful, good breakfast, excellent location. They brought me all the way to the northern bus terminal when I left at 7 am. I will stay again.

Room was small but brightly coloured. Bathroom shared and very basic (pipe stuck to cement wall with simple shower head). If you prefer more developed hostels this won't be for you. Showers and toilets are in cubicles next to each other. Wifi was strong in the hostel, better than other places although it didn't work originally in the room but does in the lounge. The owner took us to the bus station for $12 in our own school bus. Hostel was clean and comfortable but very basic.

False advertisement of cheap prices on the door but once in I had to pay more.
Very light breakfast 8-10am, false advertisement of yogurt etc that is not provided.
Very slow wifi. No city map.
Avoid the area on Sunday as everything around is closed.

Un Hostal Familiar, a great point to start your trip in Quito. Bed and breakfast, nice food, laundry service, cabke and dvd room, garage and snacks everything in one place
