The only vegetarian/vegan place also open on Sundays. Serves a great lunch for 6$/7$ at weekends.

Vegan and vegetarian selections only. The menu has a wide variety of options that caters for all sorts of cravings, and the decorations and overall ambient is warm and cozy. I have zero complaints.

Friendly staff, nice ambience, delicious food, especially their specialties. Menu del dia is a good deal but available for a limited time. Relatively expensive for vegan food but not for the similar restaurants in the same area. Recommended.

As a native to Quito, finding good vegan food is very hard to get and when i found out about this place i wanted to give it a shot.

But caution, the service will be slow and difficult depending on what server you get when you try to order from the menu instead of the usual daily lunch meal they have already prepared.

Ordered as entry a empanada made with veggie and corn and it was very good with the hot sauce they have on the table but our waitress did not give us forks nor napkins which we had to get ourselves.

We ordered a typical “meat” dish called milanesa which is breaded “meat” with French fries salad and avocado.

The milanesa was wayyy to soggy and had CHEESE on it which was not vegan, the avocado was disgusting black and they had turned it over on the plate so you wouldn’t notice how bad it was (my boyfriend didn’t even want to eat it) the French fries was probably the only good thing and the salad was very dull.

The only time our server provided us with fast service was when she came to give us the bill and immediately waited for us to pay and took it back.

Horrible experience and I’ll provably never come back. Save your time and go somewhere out of the Plaza Foch for vegan food, I’m sure they’ll take better care of you.

My girlfriend and I ate here for dinner one night. She had the Pitanza Mágica (noodles), and I had the Regordete (a double patty burger); both were vegan. The food was served promptly and looked good. I really enjoyed the burger, which also came with a small salad (more and better than just lettuce, tomato, onion). My girlfriend didn’t like too much the noodles, but I really liked them. We also had orange and vanilla tea and blackberry ice cream.

I would recommend this place for any vegan or vegetarian as well as for any person interested in chic Ecuadorian and Latin American gastronomy and culture.

Also, the place is basically a library for really amazing literary and academic works, especially ones from Ecuador. There are two large bookshelves with hundreds of books. Maybe more than a thousand?

Good food, atrocious service and staff. If you want good vegetarian food go to Flora.

Delicious vegan food. The menu is spectacular, so are "á la carte" plates

We ate at El Maple for our last meal in Ecuador before heading to the airport to go home. If only we'd found this place sooner! The food was great!

You don't find too many places that serve vegetarian/vegan hot dogs. Theirs was so good, I ordered another as soon as I was finished with the first!

And the prices are pretty good too!
    Cheap beer!

Where do i start? Slow service, we didn't even get to eat together as there was over 15mins between serving each of our main courses. Food was bland, over cooked and some of it barely able to be eaten. And it's relatively expensive for Quito. We paid $10 each and feel terrible because we had lunch for $2.50 each somewhere more basic and it was so so so much better. Don't eat here, go somewhere else.

Possibly the best vegan food in Quito

We tried a vegan Burger (with cheese and mushrooms) and hot dog, as well as a few sides and dessert. The dog was a quality, typical meat substitute, and the burger was made from grains. Both were absolutely delicious, and the bread baked on site is excellent. We had papas bravas as well, something I miss from Spain, and they were tasty, though the sauce was skimpy. The pastries were really good.

I had a honeydew melon juice to drink, and my girlfriend a pineapple juice. Neither was quite ripe (though the fruits are in season), but they were still good.

Our service was good, and the space very pleasant. I hope to be back here again.

Update: We've been back twice since. We have generally found everything just as good, from spaghetti to ceviche to the Philly cheese steak. One word of caution though: we did have at least one item each visit made incorrectly, which is difficult if you are lactose intolerant/vegan. Today, for example, two items ordered vegan arrived with cheese from dairy, though we were very, very careful to order with the (upcharged) vegan cheese. Based on our three experiences and slightly mixed reviews, I feel El Maple deserves 4 stars rather than 5, and I am updating accordingly. Still, if you aren't worried about dairy or egg in your food, this place is really tasty.

I just enjoyed chocolate. it was excellent. Food was ok. There are lot more reataurants better than this. services depend on waiters, there are good ones and bad ones, very inconsistent. Nice and cozy, though.

I wish there were more local dishes on its menu, but the pasta dish I had was excellent, perfect portion size, and the cakes are vegan

Is one of the best vegetarian places, but I think it needs a little more options than specialties, entrees and sandwiches. Moreover is a good place, good ambient and the people is nice to you. Oh the food is awesome! Recommended guys.
