  Perfect base for the late night dining and dancing found around the corner and up the hill. Great atmospheric building, really puts you in history.
  Cons: Shared bathroom in common area. No hot water. Room with semitramsparent walls from the waist up. Flimsy locks. No window in my room, which was right off the dining room area. Unclear, uninformative communication with owner for reservations. No towel offered upon arrival. Shared soap. No shampoo. Barely passable breakfast that my 8 year old could definately make just as well: scrambled eggs, white toast with margarine and marmalade, sliced bananas. Untrained, but very nice, staff. Uncomfortable bed. Old sheets. Just not private or safe feeling in my room. I guess I was expecting clean, quaint, but professional. As opposed to pretty dismal and slapped together. The street it is on is gorgeous. With a few thousand dollars fixing it up and some on hands management, this could really be something. Probably could charge twice as much, too.

  Outstanding old colonial wooden guesthouse/theatre in the heart of Las Peñas, the trendiest district in Ecuador's biggest city. Funky decoration, huge rooms, great breakfast Couldn't recommend more highly.
