Suelen tener exposiciones interesantes. Es mejor revisar la programación. El lugar tiene una vista increíble y se puede ir caminando al centro :)

Great place to visit when there's an event. As a museum it's not so interesting though

The huge Modern Art Musum has often interesting exhibits. The Museum is huge and only about 25% of the Museum space is used for exhibitions. The entry is free of charge.

A must-see in Quito; well appointed galleries inhabit a space that spent its previous life as a hospital previously run by Carmelite nuns in 17th century. The CAC does a great job of educating patrons about the building's new history while breathing new life into it with challenging, fascinating and provocative exhibits, many that showcase the imaginative talents and innovations of the city's own local artists.

This is a beautiful neo classical building which was restored to function as a center of contemporary art in Quito. Unfortunately this institution doesn´t work at a level a capital city demands. There are few exhibitions, and few international artists show there. There are not enough artists talks and what is supposed to be a space to approach contemporary art for a wide community -that doesn´t understand and know about contemporary art and art in general-, works as a small scale project showing few projects a year and many of them are not artistic projects but cultural management projects. Sad!!

Beautifully restored building that previously was a military hospital. Had some exhibits of local contemporary artists. Very nice coffee shop on grounds. Beware bathroom stalls, they have a button you need to press-- don't panic and call for help, lol. There was no temporary traveling exhibition when I visited which explains why more than 50% of space was not being used. Best part, free entrance-- beats churches any day of the week for me!
