  You can enter this nature reserve from, La virgen de Papallacta, or from the town of Papallacta. If you enter thru the virgin it's a 4 hour walk down the reserve, if you enter thru Papallacta, it's all uphill to the Virgin. This is an amazing place in Ecuador, you can than 12 lakes and lagoons along the way, the smallest being 4ha. big. Weather is cold, wind is strong sometimes, but when the sun comes out, it's an amazing view.

  The park is extremely beautiful but administration is lacking in all ways. The web site is a piece of s with information about employee status rather than maps, schedules and location.
  
  We were on site with one of the guards and unable to obtain a trail map for the park.

  Pretty big animal rescue center and a lot of animals. Quite touristy though, there are even vendors waiting outside to sell their stuff to the next bus load of people.
