The community is doing a great job maintaining the place; the road is rocky but easy to walk. Don’t forget to spray mosquito repellent on you. 10 minute walk to see the waterfall from the parking lot. Weekends and holidays might get too crowded.
We walked to the waterfall from the Hacienda Pinsaqui. It was an easy walk through lovely countryside and small villages. The waterfall was quite spectacular and well worth a half day visit. You do not need a guide. We wandered around crossing the wooden suspension bridge and exploring the Inca pools. Following our visit to the waterfall we stopped for a beer in the small community at the start of the waterfall walk before continuing our walk to the Condor Centre.
A easy walk on cobblestones. Make sure the shoes are tied tightly. Restrooms and lovely gardens. Protected. Highly recommend.
It is a really pretty waterfall and you can climb really close to it for photos. It will be a good idea to bring water proof clothes, since near the waterfalls one can get wet. For those who love a bit of adventure can have fun here climbing closer and getting great pictures.
We have seen a lot of waterfalls before all around the world; the ambiance of this waterfall is really nice and green. Also you can get really close to the water and there are some nice short hikea around. Entrance is free and a taxi from Otovalo is about 2 dollar.
Very beautiful waterfall located in a well preserved green area. There is a small community living there offering food and beverage at an affordable price. The entrance is free, you are invited to participate with a couple of dollars to help maintain this place natural and fresh.
Awesome falls. Beautiful short hike. Great falls for up close and personal pics.
The falls are great! It has a natural beauty and it is very easy to get there. The hike is quick.
Beautiful waterfall set in a lovely quiet forest. Free entry though donation encouraged. Friendly guides at the entrance. Good paths including step-free access. You can walk up to the lake from here though the path is quite steep and takes about 45 minutes. Walkable from the centre of Otavalo (follow the train tracks north then signposted).
The river is polluted and there is a disgusting smell in the air.
A beautiful and peaceful place to enjoy nature.
Was a really sympathetic place near otavalo. You can take a bus in front of the terminal or just enjoy the 25 min walk until Peguche. From there you can get to the waterfall in less than 30 min.
If your there for the solstice, there is a wonderful festival where everyone get purified during the night by bathing in the really cold water!
Beautiful enchanting place
Amazing place where they have succeeded in making it tourist friendly while precerving nature. Take the trip - it is worth it.
A very nice park. Lots of locals go here. It's nice to see so many enjoying there own park. It's a clean place with nice well maintained paths. Very family friendly.
Beautiful waterfall, a short distance from the city of Otavalo. Take a bus to Peguche or taxi.
Lovely place to walk around and see nature. Waterfall can be walked right up to for pictures-- some people even walk right into it.
Nice, short walk to the falls through a nice forest. Very scenic.
